This shop came from meager beginnings. I, as a single mom, need some sort of release for my sanity and well being.
I gathered a great deal of insight into who I am and who I want to be while on the road following the Grateful Dead. I have made wrong turns, gotten lost and hit a few speed bumps while "out there, on the road". I have met kindred spirits who touched me and changed my life, and have also found some of the "things that go bump in the night".
I have kept returning to Florida, where I currently live. The call of the beach, fresh air, sunshine, and rain is more than I can escape from. The heat I can't live without. Every now and then I take the boys to visit mountains, that we don't get to see living in Florida, to get a fresh perspective.
My sales career began with vending home made banana bread. I even had a vegan recipe for my vegan friends. Due to the arrival of my children, I eventually had to go back to my second love, healthcare. Being in healthcare, uniforms are a requirement and necessity that seems to get monotonous after a while. Most of the schools in our area are also uniform schools. Everyone wearing the same thing every day gets.......boring! I love seeing, feeling, wearing the most outlandish and outrageous colors, textures, and materials I can find or make. I try to be as eco-friendly as possible using recycled and up-cycled materials whenever and wherever possible. I spend hours in thrift and close-out stores trying to re-route things away from our landfills. I have tried to "teach my children well" and to reduce, reuse, recycle. I have also relied on music to convey messages that I can't. My life has a very eclectic sound track. I gather from many different genres and eras, but one of my biggest motivators has been The Grateful Dead.
